Does this list match with the songs you sing most in your church? Which songs would you like to see in the top 25?
I too, like Revelation Song
Some of the ones high on our playlist are
The Wonder of the Cross by Vicki Beeching
Before the Throne sung by Sovereign Grace and also Shane and Shane
And Can it Be the Enfield version
Jesus I My Cross Have Taken
Behold the Lamb by Getty/Townend is sung every first sunday of the month for communion.
We do a lot of Getty songs actually… Power of the Cross, In Christ Alone, Speak O Lord, they are all wonderful.
Jesus You are Worthy
Man of Sorrows
Rock of Ages
I could go on but I’ll control myself. 😉 There are so many amazing worship songs.
We try to keep it as Christ centered as possible. Lifting the praises to HIM. Because that is the purpose for Sunday worship service. Not to bless us but to bless and exalt Christ, together.
Great list Teresa. I’m just knowing really getting to know more of the Getty’s music and it’s great– definitely going to start introducing more of their stuff to my church. Any song that effectively takes my focus away from me and brings me face to face with the truth of the gospel is a winner in my book.
Eric, these are some great songs! Revelation Song is amazing, I wish we sang it here. When I led for a few months last year we did it every other week or so, but not since. Josh Starkey’s doing a great job leading worship, always bringing in some new stuff. Love it.
Good job with the blog man, keep it up!
I have never even listened to it. But on your recommendation, I think I’ll check it out!
Very few of those still have a track record at GBCSV. We’re hitting up hymns like mad & feeling good about that direction.
