Compassion Ministry

When he went ashore he saw a great crowd, and he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. And he began to teach them many things.

Mark 6:34

Right thinking is the key to right living. Right thinking requires good teaching. And that’s what Jesus sought to give to this great lost crowd.

Compassion ministries are good and necessary, but people don’t get saved without being taught something– the gospel, that is.

Only feed them bread and they’ll go hungry. Just give them water and they’ll get thirsty again. Simply build them a house and it eventually will crumble.

Offer them the Bread of Life and they’ll never go hungry again. Bring them to the Well of Living Water and they will never thirst again. Show them how to build their lives on the Firm Foundation, and it will never crumble. Teach them.

Be compassionate. Be generous in giving away money and food; help people find pure water; construct houses and buildings. Care deeply for the world around you.¬†Give your life to away to ease suffering. But don’t forget about eternal suffering, and it’s only remedy: the gospel.

  1. I do wish some people were more compassionate. I don’t know how it is there but in Georgia, there are a lot of people who instantly condemn and criticize people whenever their name or situation is in the news, and many like to label them as ‘Democrats’ or ‘Republicans,’ but not knowing if they have true affiliations. I don’t know why people do this but I do wish people would stop…think..place themselves in other’s shoes and have more compassion.
